As of 1 January 2026, the International Departure Fee Increased to TRY 1,250
With Law No. 7524, the fee collected per departure from Turkish citizens traveling abroad was increased from TRY 50 to TRY 500 as of 12 August 2024, and it was regulated that the fee would be increased each year in line with the revaluation rate. Accordingly, as of 1 January 2025, the international departure fee became TRY 710.
Later, with Presidential Decision No. 10381 published in the Official Gazette dated 09 September 2025 (No. 33012), the fee was increased from TRY 710 to TRY 1,000.
As of 1 January 2026, the international departure fee will be applied as TRY 1,250.
Under the regulation, for departures made until the end of the tenth day of January of the year in which the fee is applied, no additional payment is required for fees paid at the amount valid as of the end of the previous year. Therefore, departure fee stamps purchased at TRY 1,000 (the amount valid as of the end of 2025) by 31/12/2025 may be used for departures made until the end of 10 January 2026.
The fee can also be paid via the Revenue Administration’s Digital Tax Office and GİB mobile applications, as well as through authorized banks’ internet and mobile banking channels.
Refunds are processed if the departure does not take place despite payment, or if the fee has been collected from persons who are exempt. Refund applications can also be submitted electronically via the Revenue Administration’s Digital Tax Office application.
